“At Ring Automotive, we aim to continuously commit to our focus on quality; and Pd-m have helped us with this journey to show that we are still forward-thinking in our innovations. Having worked with Pd-m on several redesigns, their user-focused, holistic approach continues to prove its worth.”
Case Study
Having worked together on several successful redesign projects, Ring Automotive turned to us again for this latest challenge, confident we understood both their technical needs and their distinctive brand style.
The Process
We started by developing the form factor to fit the compact internal layout, ensuring it stayed on-brand and connected visually to Ring’s wider product line. Using Virtual Reality, we presented a range of concepts from rugged industrial styles to sleeker consumer-friendly designs, allowing the Ring team to “hold” and review the products before committing to a direction.
Refinement & Range Building
From the feedback, we refined a winning concept, then created four additional variations — all aligned to the same design language, giving Ring flexibility across their product range.
Beyond the Brief
We also spotted an opportunity to improve the internal component integration. By redesigning the connector system, we made the final product more unified, robust, and streamlined — delivering a better user experience and stronger visual appeal.
The Result
The new Jump Starter range has been met with strong positive feedback, reinforcing Ring Automotive’s position as a leader in the automotive accessories sector.
