Wellness Cube
Concept to manufacture for a world first wellness device
Luma³
Client: Luma³ began with a clear ambition: to create a simple, screen-free way for young people to manage stress through guided breathing. The founder had already explored early prototypes but needed support turning a meaningful idea into a viable, manufacturable product.
Approach: We started by reviewing the existing CAD model, creating high-quality prototypes to support the product’s Kickstarter campaign. From there, every component was re-evaluated, from the outer shell and wooden base to the diffuser and electronics, creating a more efficient, scalable architecture without losing the product’s original calm, tactile character.
Challenges: Balancing aesthetics with manufacturability required careful iteration. Ensuring the assembly was robust, cost-effective and easy to repair required iterative development of fixings, internal layouts and electronic integration.
Deliverables: A thoughtfully considered solution, navigated through thorough design for manufacturing and compliance testing. Our ongoing supply chain management for Luma³ was vital to ensure the successful upscale of the product.
Impact: The final design strengthened the product’s commercial viability, reduced cost, and positioned Luma³ for a successful launch — helping a simple, therapeutic idea reach the people who need it most.
“The knowledge, experience, passion and support I have received from the team at Pd-m has changed everything. I know that I made the right choice when partnering with them - I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to navigate the trials and tribulations of launching a brand new product.”
