Accelerating Sustainability Through Design & Innovation

We’ve lead sustainability through design and innovation since 2012, helping organisations from start-ups to global brands move from linear to circular models. Our work delivers clear commercial outcomes, including Net Zero scale-up strategies, carbon reduction plans and product carbon and cost savings exceeding £300,000 per year, alongside strategic sustainability frameworks for global MedTech organisations.

Credibility That Builds Confidence

Our credentials in sustainability speak for themselves. We are a contributor to the Department for Health Design for Life programme, a UK Government initiative building a circular economy for MedTech. We are also leading the National Institute of Health and Care Research (NIHR) Net Zero Catalyst, a UK wider accelerator programme.

Our CEO is a Design Council Expert whose work focuses on tackling major challenges such as sustainability and climate change, sharing knowledge, influencing policy and championing design as a driver of real-world impact. And our Commercial and Sustainability Lead is on the British Standards Institute (BSI) committee for remanufacture of medical devices, as well as being an active member of the Association of British HealthTech Industries (ABHI) Sustainability working group.

We are also recipients of the prestigious Bionow award in recognition of our work in sustainability. We have partnered with the Design Council to produce a HealthTech Sustainable Design Guide to illustrate how addressing sustainability will generate returns on people, planet and profit.

Beyond MedTech, Proven Across Sectors

While sustainability in MedTech is most prevalent, we apply the same evidence-led approach across other sectors where sustainability drives differentiation, cost reduction and long-term resilience. By identifying carbon and resource hotspots early, we unlock smarter design decisions that strengthen business cases and support profitable growth.

Innovate to Zero Webinar

This webinar, Pd-m Innovate to Zero, explores how organisations can accelerate their journey toward eliminating waste, emissions, and inefficiency through smarter design, better processes, and forward‑thinking innovation. It introduces the principles behind “Innovate to Zero,” a framework focused on reducing environmental impact while improving performance and resilience.

Viewers will gain insight into practical strategies, real‑world examples, and tools that support meaningful progress toward sustainability goals. Whether you're leading transformation or simply curious about the path to zero, this session offers a clear, engaging starting point for rethinking what’s possible

  • “It has been a genuine pleasure working with the Pd-m team… Their collaborative spirit and commitment to evidence-based decision-making made the engagement both productive and enjoyable.”

    - Sustainability Manager, Medtronic

  • "Pd-m provided the expertise needed to quantify our scaffold’s carbon footprint, optimise manufacturing, and plan for Net Zero scale-up. Their structured, data-led approach identified risks and practical opportunities to reduce waste, cost and failure. The work strengthened our value proposition for clinical evaluation, procurement and funding, underpinned by strong medtech and sustainability expertise."

    - CEO, Neotherix

  • “We’d been talking about decarbonising our DBS pathway for some time, but we lacked the data to know where to focus our efforts. Working with Pd-m gave us exactly that. They translated a complex life cycle assessment process into clear, actionable carbon insights that we could build into our ‘NetZero DBS’ workflow.

    - Sustainability Lead, Deep Brain Stimulation, St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust

  • "Pd-m’s team was incredible to work with. They are true partners who understand the importance of sustainability and innovation in healthcare. We could not have taken this crucial step forward without them".
