NIHR Net Zero Innovation Catalyst Launch

We’re delighted to announce that Pd-m is delivering the NIHR Net Zero Innovation Catalyst in partnership with the Accelerated Surgical Care HealthTech Research Centre (HRC Leeds), on behalf of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR).

Building on the success of the Innovation for Healthcare Net Zero pilot delivered in spring 2025, this new three-month programme is designed to support innovators developing solutions that embed sustainability directly into healthcare practice. The Catalyst brings together world-class academic, clinical and industry expertise, helping participants build the knowledge, evidence and confidence needed to progress their innovations toward real-world impact.

Through a structured series of workshops, expert input and targeted support, participants will explore practical approaches to sustainable innovation — from understanding carbon hotspots and system challenges to identifying opportunities to reduce emissions while improving clinical outcomes.

To further accelerate progress, the most exceptional innovators in each cohort will receive a share of a £7,500 bridge fund, supporting evidence generation and strengthening follow-on funding applications.

We’re proud to be supporting the NIHR and HRC Leeds in enabling the next generation of sustainable healthtech innovation, and we look forward to working with ambitious teams ready to make a measurable difference.
