One in three people have had problems sleeping and The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) consider these sleep related problems a ‘global health epidemic’.
SleepCogni is the first bedside sleep device that integrates cognitive science, behavioural therapy and stimulus control to prevent sleep disorders, help insomniacs fall asleep, and improve the quality of sleep.
The inventor, Richard Mills (an insomniac himself) had undertaken pioneering research with a university but was unsure how to bring it to life. We helped evolve the concept into two elements: A light and sound emitting base unit, and a hand-held trigger controller (with heart rate sensor, accelerometer, temperature sensor, and grip force), which are wirelessly synced together.
The outcome of our product development cycle enabled Richard to manufacture a viable, workable prototype for further clinical trials. It’s also helped him win attracted significant public and private funding, a number of design awards, and with a high profile team in place, looks set to take the market by storm.
