We’re a small but diverse team with complementary skills and a never give-up attitude. If we believe in an idea, we’ll find a way to make it work. We know that success is always underpinned by a strong process, making us a safe pair of hands. We love collaborating with clients and when necessary we’ll challenge too. Our purpose is to create products that make a difference by bringing knowledge, experience and rigour to every project.

Richard In the creative world it’s easy to become insular, so as well as managing PD-M, I’m also a visiting tutor at the Royal College of Art (MA Product design); a mentor for the Design Council; and lecture throughout the NHS on product innovation and the solutions PD-M has developed. I’m also involved in many business and sector initiatives on an ongoing basis.

Tim With over 12 years in the industry, Tim lives and breathes product design. There’s nothing he loves more than getting stuck into a new challenge. As a strong lateral thinker his drive is always to find a beautifully simple solution to a complicated problem. Like his favourite designer, Dyson, Tim strikes a really good balance between a creative designer and a technical engineer.

Pippa Pippa came to us with a first class honours degree, multiple awards and a breadth of design experience. Her passion is sustainable design so takes her impact on the world as a designer very seriously. Her favourite part in the design process is user-testing where she gets to see the real life response to her work. Pippa is also known as the ‘mum’ of the studio and keeps us all in line.

Will Will is cutting his teeth at PD-M after completing his Design for Industry degree at Northumbria University. He’s a real ideas man and enjoys free-thinking through the early stages of projects, from initial research, ideation and user-centred design. Then pulling it all together with his layout, graphics and photography skills. He also does a great job of keeping us all going with tea and donuts.

Beth Having recently graduated, Beth achieved a first class honours degree, and has even managed to win a StarPack Gold Award in her short time in industry. She loves the fact that she can be doing something different every day at PD-M, whether it’s researching, ideation, CAD development or prototyping. And as a keen technologist she’s naturally put herself in charge of the 3D printers.
