Pd-m client wins Grand Design's award

Businessman James Dunne was thrilled on Friday evening 8th June when his businesses product - the SAVASOCKET - was announced as the winner of the Ecological Living category at the prestigious Grand Designs Awards.

The SAVASOCKET was actually a finalist in two categories - Technology for the Home as well as Ecological Living - but it was the latter that James was particularly keen to win.

"SAVASOCKET puts an end to appliances wasting energy in stand-by mode through its unique remote-controlled six-gang mains extension panel. It controls power to plugged-in appliances, thereby cutting down on wasted electricity, reducing unnecessary CO2 emissions, and saving money; plus it has in-built surge protection. This product has been part of my life for such a long time and it¬??s fantastic to be recognised with the award and by an organisation like Grand Designs."

James added "Of course, winning this award has been a team effort. Pd-m have been instrumental in the product design, engineering development and project management with the manufacturers in the Far East. The SAVASOCKET is the first of a range of products aimed at the environmental sector. Our relationship with Pd-m has been pleasurable and we have already started on the design of subsequent, innovative products."
